Dr Tarik Farooq, MD C.C.F.P. DDSc (UK)

Thank you for visiting us online and I hope you have found it informative. I moved to Barrie in 2003 and discovered that there was a great shortage of physicians and cosmetic services. It was my goal to build a technologically advanced facility locally and have a staff that is knowledgeable and compassionate to provide comprehensive care to my community. I continue to enjoy practicing in Barrie and feel gratified helping people look and feel their best!

My interest in cosmetic medicine began as a medical student at the University of Western Ontario where I completed both my M.D. Degree and a residency in family medicine. From there I traveled to the United Kingdom and completed a one year Diploma in Dermatological Sciences from the University of Wales College of Medicine and graduated with distinction. Cosmetic medicine is such an ever changing field that I continue to update my knowledge by attending local and international conferences. Recent conferences that I have attended took place at the University of Toronto, South Beach Symposium in Miami Florida, World Congress of Dermatology in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Atlantic Dermatology Conference in Quebec City and the American Academy of Dermatology annual meeting. Please note that I am not a dermatologist.

When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my wife and two daughters and enjoying what our city has to offer. I also enjoy playing hockey, tennis, golf and reading.

Mary, Office Manager

My name is Mary, and I am the office manager. I have worked with Dr. Tarik Farooq for more than 6 years now. My previous work experience was in a medical laboratory, working for an endocrinologist, neurologists and I spent the 5 years just prior to this position working for a plastic surgeon. Now having 11 years experience in the cosmetic Industry, I can truly say that it is very rewarding to see how my clients feel better, gain confidence and just feel good when they feel better about the way they look. On a personal note, my family and I were treated by Dr. Farooq as patients prior to my working in this office. I am very fortunate to have a wonderful family.  I enjoy walking, hiking, motorcycling, traveling and love to dine out. My latest passion are my grandchildren. I hope I have the pleasure of speaking to you on the telephone or even better, meeting you in person.

Tracey, Registered Nurse

My name is Tracey and I am a registered nurse. I have been working with Dr. Farooq since 2004. My previous nursing experience has been mainly in critical care, in Sudbury and before that Kingston. While in Sudbury I was fortunate enough to work with a plastic surgeon, and thus became interested in the cosmetic field of medicine. I enjoy working with Dr. Farooq because of the diversity of the medicine practiced and the enjoyment of the individuals I work with.

I have two children aged 11 and 8, Madeline and Lucas who keep me busy with hockey, soccer, lacrosse and figure skating...when I'm not on a field or in a rink you can find me doing my own sports or dabbling in abstract painting.

Nicole, Registered Nurse

My name is Nicole  and I am a BScN Registered Nurse working with Dr. Farooq and his wonderful staff. I live in Barrie with my husband Rick and my two sons Luke and Bennett. Outside of work my life consists of being a very involved parent with my sons numerous activities. In the summers I can be found at skateboard parks, football fields and swimming pools, and arenas and ski resorts in the winter. Any spare time I have for myself I’ll spend jogging while listening to 80’s music or catching up on my favorite shows and my sleep. I am passionate about what I do and look forward to caring for you.
