Laser hair removal is a new advancement that can result in a significant decrease in the amount of hair. Usually anywhere from 80-100% of the hair on a given area is permanently removed. Approximately 8 treatments are needed to reduce the hair, and each treatment should be 4-6 weeks apart. The number of treatments can be affected by a number of factors including location on the body, age, colour of hair, and ethnicity.
Cost start at $125.00 per treatment and package discounts are also available.
We use the Cynosure Nd:YAG laser. It uses revolutionary technology allowing the most effective treatment and it is safe to use on any skin type or colour. We also use a Zimmer cooler that cools the skin while being treated making for a more comfortable treatment.
Since laser targets the pigment in the hair root only those with darker hair types are candidates. Laser hair removal is not effective on white or red hair. Our laser is effective and safe on all skin types.
The day before or of the treatment, you must shave the area being treated. No waxing or plucking is allowed, as we require the root of the hair in order to provide a treatment. The laser nurse/technician will apply a gel which helps the laser work more effectively. The sensation depending on area treated can be a very minimal discomfort to uncomfortable. We use a cold air cooler to help minimize discomfort. If the treatment is uncomfortable, you may use a numbing cream prior to treatment such as EMLA. Short term side effects may include slight reddening of the skin or local swelling which typically lasts less than an hour, although rarely may last a few days. In rare instances there may be some blistering and or scabbing. It takes anywhere from a few minutes to an hour for a treatment depending on the size of the area being treated.

Once the hair has been permanently removed, it will not come back. In rare instances with certain medications or diseases new hair can be produced by the body. However, this is very rare.

As tanning your skin affects the laser treatment, we ask that you do not tan during your treatments, or if you do, to postpone subsequent treatments until your tan has faded.
